What To Expect

1.Ngoc Hien Pearl Farm

Pearl Farms is one of the unique tourism places of Phu Quoc. In addition to high-end jewelry shopping needs serve as souvenirs for tourists to the island. You will learn pearl production process, customers can buy the pearls cultured in the island so as souvenirs. In Pearl Farms, you will find some remarkable pearls and some information about the history of pearl farming on the island. You might find the prices are also quiet remarkable too, judge for yourself. To extract the pearl, the worker slides a knife between the oyster, avoid directly hitting the pearl inside and scratching it. After being removed from the oyster, the pearl is cleaned and polished with special instruments. The polishing process aims to remove any blemishes. Pearls are valued by their size, shape, luster and the presence of blemishes.

2.Phu Quoc Prison

Coconut Tree Prison is one of Phu Quoc historical sites which is still partially in use today, located about 5kms north of An Thoi Town. Phu Quoc Prison was built from 1949 -1950 by French in order to keep 14,000 Vietnamese political prisoners. It covers an area of 40, 000 square metres. Phu Quoc prison has for main area to keep Vietnamese prisoners and the most important called “tiger cage” for the important Vietnamese political prisoners. After the war with French, American army rebuilt Phu Quoc prison to continue keeping Vietnamese. In this time the women, children and the old people were kept in here. US army decided to expand Phu Quoc prison with more 12 areas to keep Vietnamese soldiers. Vietnamese suffer from strictly rule in Phu Quoc Coconut Tree Prison, they had to work very hard in the day time and they had to live with poorest condition in Phu Quoc prison. Phu Quoc prison close when Vietnam had the independent from American in the year of 1975.

3.Huynh Khoa Fish Sauce Factory

Travelling to Phu Quoc, visitors not only visit the beautiful landscapes, you can also visit the traditional fish sauce factory with top quality over country. Phu Quoc fish sauce is famous for its very high quality which is exported worldwide and is a major contributor to the islands economy. Fish sauce or nước Mắm is a dipping sauce which complements most Vietnamese meals to add a saltiness flavour. It is made from combining anchovies, salt and water and sometimes the pepper grown on the island and fermented through various stages for six months up to a year before being drained from the large barrels into different grades from the top quality lighter coloured sauce to the basic cooking sauce, both of which are high in protein.

4.Hon Thom Departure Terminal - Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park

Cable car is moving from An Thoi to Hon Thom island by cable car, which will take you through countless small islands, fishing villages, and beaches, etc. Riding on the cable car, you soar over a turquoise sea and islands with an amazing view. With the length of 8 km, the Phu Quoc cable car route is the longest non-stop three-way cable car in the world recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records. When visiting Hon Thom Island by cable car, tourists will have amazing and unforgettable time because you will have a chance to admire the whole beauty of Phu Quoc Island from the sky. The journey to the top with the Hon Thom cable car gives visitors an exciting experience, when 360 degrees of sea and sky is collected and watching the painting in South Phu Quoc is portrayed with natural colors in the best and the liveliest.

5.Bãi Tắm Sao

Sao Beach is located on the eastern side of Phu Quoc Island in An Thoi Town. It is 7 km's of white sandy heaven. Sao Beach is famous for its white sand. The sand is powdery and light, reminiscent of the sand found in the Caribbean's. The "whitest and cleanest" strectch of sand can be found in the northern part near the Paradiso REstaurant. Far, south, the sand becomes more coarse with a yellowish hue. There is also a lot more trash in the southern part of the beach. The water surrounding the beach is calm, warm, and with a distinctive turquoise blue color. The further out you go, the darker the ocean becomes. The sand leading into the water contains no rocks and there is no sudden drop, but rather a gentle slope.

 

6.Ho Quoc Temple

Ho Quoc Pagoda is the ideal point of tourists every occasion to visit the emerald island. Because of its beautiful scenery and cool climate, where daily should attract a lot of tourists and monks, Buddhists to visit and Buddhist ceremonies. Locals and tourists come here offering incense in the holidays and relaxing retreat after hours of labor tension. Ho Quoc Pagoda is the new temple, which was opened in 2012, is located on a high mountain, overlooking the sea.
